Designed by owners Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode (the team behind the Maritime Hotel and the Waverly Inn), The Bowery Hotel features threadbare carpets and velvet upholstery, conveying a sense of nostalgia and instant comfort.

3) Ace Hotel New York

Designed by Roman and Williams, Ace Hotel is quientenissally cool, complete with clothing emporium Opening Ceremony and decadently delicious Breslin all under one hip roof. Each hotel room feels like a personal apartment, with some featuring record players and guitars resting in the corner (extra strings are available upon request at the front desk).

4) Gansevoort Park

Designed by famed interior designer, Andi Pepper, Gansevoort Park is the second Gansevoort Hotel Group outpost created after the original location in New York City’s Meatpacking District helped to transform that area from gritty to chic. The three-story atrium lobby showcases striking herringbone granite floors, an oversized fireplace, and dramatic aubergine chandeliers.

5) The Gramercy Park Hotel

Walk into the lobby of New York’s Gramercy Park Hotel to find 20th century masterpieces by artists, including Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Damien Hirst, Richard Prince, Keith Haring, and old friend to hotelier Ian Schrager, Julian Schnabel.
